2006 Topic-based Tabulations
Topic-based Tabulations paint a portrait of Canada based on various topics, that is, on groups of variables on related subjects. They are available for various levels of geography.
The six standard census geographic areas are as follows: enumeration areas (EA) (prior to 2006), dissemination areas (DA), census tracts (CT), census subdivisions (CSDs), census metropolitan areas (CMAs), and census agglomerations (CAs) or any combinations thereof. (For example, census tracts can be aggregated to form city planning districts, or census subdivisions can be aggregated to form market areas.) For 2006 and 2001, postal code geography can also be used for the creation of custom products (place of residence only).
Some tables provide a simple overview of the country; others consist of three or four cross-tabulated variables; and still others are of special or analytic interest.
