access to current and historical socio-economic time series collected by
Statistics Canada and other government agencies such as the Bank of Canada.
The database itself consists of over 650,000 series, many of which constitute
a data record spanning several decades. Some time series contain greater
detail than is available in print-published form. The database is
structured around matrix numbers and series labels. The final product delivered
by the database is a specific time series. Access to CANSIM is restricted
to CURRENT STUDENTS, STAFF, AND FACULTY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA,
and may be used for NON-COMMERCIAL purposes only.
